Your discussion highlights an important point for me. For the past 50ish years, my usual focus during an election was who is the best person for the area where I live, more than their political affilitations.

However now, it almost seems that their affilitations are almost the most important consideration.

This makes it very difficult.

AI has so much potential but is being used for SO many AWFUL things from stealing artists/authors work to creating AI pr0n of people who did NOT give their consent. It's terrifying what people choose to use it for. 🤦🏻

What we call "AI" now (which is essentially just a complicated algorithm) is going to be useful for small, niche things...tasks that have a limited number of variables that the AI can be trained on. "Generative AI" can only amalgamate and regurgitate things it's been fed...it's incapable of true creativity.
